HC Deb 11 July 1893 vol 14 cc1267-8
MR. TANKERVILLE CHAMBER-LAYNE (Southampton)

I beg to ask the Secretary to the Admiralty whether, in view of the fact that Her Majesty's ship Trincomalee will shortly cease to be used as a training ship at Southampton, he will suggest to the Government that she be handed over, free of charge, to the Sanitary Authorities at that port as a floating hospital for cholera cases?

THE SECRETARY TO THE ADMIRALTY (Sir U. KAY-SHUTTLE-WORTH, Lancashire, Clitheroe)

The hon. Gentleman has been misinformed. The Trincomalee will not shortly cease to be used as a training ship at Southampton.
