HC Deb 06 July 1893 vol 14 c972
MR. KILBRIDE

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether the Congested Districts Board have decided on erecting a pier at Corscroom, near Cahirciveen; when the decision was arrived at; and what is the cause of the delay in commencing the work?

MR. J. MORLEY

I am not in a position to make any definite announcement as to the pier referred to. In reply to a question from the hon. Member for Kerry, I stated on June 27 that there are different proposals for piers along the West Coast of Ireland under the consideration of the Congested Districts Board. No time will be lost in arriving at a decision.

MR. KILBRIDE

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that members of the Board visited this district several mouths ago, and reported very favourably on this proposal? When may we expect to hear that the consideration of the matter has been completed?

MR. J. MORLEY

When the Board find themselves in the possession of material sufficient to enable them to form a satisfactory judgment. I can assure the hon. Member that the Board spend a great deal of time well and profitably in examining these proposals.
