LODER (Brighton)I beg to ask the Postmaster General whether the sum of £20,000 voted by Parliament last Session for putting coastguard stations, lifeboat stations, and rocket stations into telegraphic and telephonic communication with the general system of the country has been expended; and whether it is the intention of the Government to apply for a further sum in the forthcoming Estimates for a continuation of the work; and, if so, what sum they propose to ask for?
§ MR. A. MORLEYThe sum mentioned by the hon. Member has been wholly appropriated, and it will be expended before the end of the financial year. The question of a provision in the Estimates to continue the work is now under the consideration of the Treasury.
