HC Deb 14 February 1893 vol 8 cc1365-6
MR. MACFARLANE (Argyll)

I beg to ask the Secretary to the Admiralty if a Petition has been received asking that a training ship for the Navy should be stationed at Oban; and whether it is the intention of the Admiralty to comply with the request?

*SIR U. KAY-SHUTTLEWORTH

Yes, Sir; such a Memorial was received in December from the Oban Town Council. I can only repeat the reply which was sent to them—namely, that the Memorial will be taken into consideration if necessity should arise for increasing the number of boys' training ships.
