HC Deb 10 February 1893 vol 8 c1025
MR. CARVELL WILLIAMS (Notts,) Mansfield

I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he can inform the House when the case relative to the Law of Marriage in Malta, which the Government has submitted to the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council, is likely to be considered?

THE UNDER SECRETARY OF STATE FOR THE COLONIES (Mr. S. BUXTON,) Tower Hamlets, Poplar

Some delay has occurred in obtaining from Malta some evidence which was required in support of the Protestant case, but it is hoped that the case may be beard before the close of the present sittings of the Judicial Committee, over whose proceedings, of course, the Secretary of State has no control.
