TREVELYAN, Glasgow, Bridgeton)No flogging of adult ordinary prisoners in Scotland takes place, or has taken place, for many years past, but convicts at public works are flogged for grave offences. No understanding or stipulation is made on the appointment of a warder in Scotland that he shall not be compelled to flog.
