§ MR. FULLER (Wilts, Westbury)I beg to ask the hon. Member for Merionethshire whether, in consideration of the necessity of providing school accommodation at an early date, the Charity Commissioners will sanction the scheme approved by the inhabitants of Corsham, in the County of Wilts, for the better distribution of the funds of Lady Hunger-ford's Charity; and whether there is any good reason for delay?
§ THE PARLIAMENTARY CHARITY COMMISSIONER (Mr. T. E. ELLIS, Merionethshire)The Charity Commissioners cannot admit that the necessity of providing at an early date school accommodation in the parish of Corsham should determine the character of the scheme for a foundation which is to the extent of two-thirds of its endowment fund, one for the maintenance of almspeople. The scheme of the Commissioners, which has been published in 640 the locality, will be forthwith reconsidered by them with a view to introduce into it as many of the amendments proposed by the Committee of Parishioners (referred to in the question as the "scheme approved by the inhabitants of Corsham") as the nature of the foundation, its limited resources, and the obligation of the Commissioners to deal with it as nearly as may be in accordance with the original Trusts will allow.
§ MR. FULLERIs there any chance of this matter being decided before the New Year?
§ MR. T. E. ELLISI will inquire further and expedite the settling of the matter.
