§ MR. RENSHAW (Renfrew, W.)I beg to ask the Secretary for Scotland whether he can now give more definite information as to the disturbances which took place at Peterhead; whether he proposes to institute a searching inquiry into the whole matter, on behalf of the Government; and what steps he proposes to take to prevent a recurrence of such a deplorable interference with the freedom of trade?
§ SIR G. TREVELYANI have ordered a full inquiry to be made by the Sheriff of the county, which, I understand, commences to-day at Peterhead. It would be premature to say more until his Report is laid before me and considered.
