GOURLEYI beg to ask the Secretary to the Admiralty if he will be good enough to state what Report he has received relative to the extent of damages, external and internal, sustained by the battle-ship Howe; whether the vessel is being docked by the salvage contractors or under the control of the Admiralty, and whether she is to be brought home for repairs by Admiralty or hired tug; and can he also state the probable cost of temporary repairs?
§ MR. E. ROBERTSONThe injuries to the bottom of the Howe are reported as severe, but that there are no grounds to suppose that the ship is seriously strained. The Howe was not docked by the salvage contractors, and she will he brought home by the Admiralty. The probable cost of the temporary repairs is not yet reported.
