HC Deb 01 April 1892 vol 3 cc476-7
MR. H. GARDNER (Essex, Saffron Walden)

I beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury whether the Government intend to take any steps, and, if so, what steps, to carry out the recommendations contained in the Report of the Commissioners appointed to inquire into the redemption of the tithe rent-charge?

MR. A. J. BALFOUR

I do not know that I can give any definite answer to this question. The matter is under the consideration of my right hon. Friends the President of the Board of Trade and the President of the Board of Agriculture.

MR. T. E. ELLIS (Merionethshire)

Is there any likelihood of its being done this Session?

MR. A. J. BALFOUR

That is a question of which I must have notice.
