HC Deb 17 February 1890 vol 341 c440
MR. PRITCHARD MORGAN (Merthyr Tydvil)

I beg to ask the Postmaster General whether he is now prepared to grant the prayer of the Telegraph Clerks throughout the United Kingdom, for the abolition of deductions from their pay during absence from duty caused by sickness?

MR. RAIKES

I fear, Sir, that this is not altogether practicable; but a scheme is now under my consideration which will, I hope, go no little way in the direction indicated.
