HC Deb 24 April 1890 vol 343 c1285
MR. J. ROBERTS&c.) (Flint,

I beg to ask the Postmaster General what is the estimated cost of the nightly service of the three horsed parcel van recently started between Liverpool and Manchester, and how does it compare with the cost of the conveyance of the same parcel by rail?

The cost of the Parcel Service by road is estimated at £2,659, and the cost of the corresponding service by railway at £3,016 a year.
