HC Deb 29 March 1889 vol 334 c1166
MAJOR RASCH (Essex, S. E.)

asked the First Lord of the Treasury whether there was any ground for the statement in the newspapers that the Government intended to postpone the introduction of the Bill for constituting district councils in order to facilitate the passing of a Bill to establish a Ministry of Agriculture?

*MR. W. H. SMITH

I am not in the slightest degree responsible for such a statement; and I have not the slightest idea how it could have found its way into the papers unless it was necessary to find matter without regard to its authenticity.
