HC Deb 05 March 1889 vol 333 c969
MR. CONYBEARE (Cornwall, Camborne)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he has now made arrangements for the reprint in a cheap and popular form of the Report of the Royal Commission on the Housing of the Poor, and of Mr. Burnett's Report on the Condition of the Nail and Chainmakers; whether he is aware of the difficulty Mr. Burnett experiences in obtaining statistics from the various societies to whom he applies for Returns; and, whether he could make any arrangements to facilitate his work in this respect?

MR. MATTHEWS

Arrangements have been made and the Report of the Royal Commission on the Housing of the Poor will shortly appear in a cheaper form. No arrangements have been made by me as to the re-issue of Mr. Burnett's Report. This is a matter for the Board of Trade. I am informed by the Board of Trade that they are aware of the difficulties experienced by Mr. Burnett, but they hope to make some arrangements by which more extended information will be obtained.
