HC Deb 22 February 1889 vol 333 cc125-6
MR. J. E. ELLIS (Nottingham, Rushcliffe)

asked the First Lord of the Treasury when the Estimate to meet the expenses of the Special Commission under the Members' Charges and Allegations Act, 1888, would be proposed to the House?

MR. W. H. SMITH

The cost of the Special Commission, 1888, so far as chargeable on Public Funds, is being defrayed from the sum inserted in the Temporary Commissions Vote for "Commissions not specifically provided for." In the Estimates for 1889–90 specific provision is made for the Commission.
