HC Deb 26 August 1889 vol 340 c483
MR. STACK (Kerry, N.)

I beg to ask the Postmaster General whether, seeing that there is direct railway communication between Listowel, Limerick, and Ballybunian, he will arrange for a second delivery of letters daily at the latter place?

SIR H. MAXWELL

In reply to the hon. Member's question, I have to state that the Postmaster General some time since made an offer to the Listowel and Ballybunian Railway Company for the conveyance of mails over their line. This offer was declined by the Company, and the Postmaster General subsequently renewed negotiations; but it is doubtful whether, under any agreement which can be concluded, the number of letters for Ballybunian would be sufficient to justify the expenditure involved in establishing a second daily delivery.
