HC Deb 06 August 1889 vol 339 c553

I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether negotiations are now in progress with the Empire of Brazil for the appointment of a Joint Commission of Delimitation to determine and fix a definite line of frontier between the Colony of British Guiana and the Empire of Brazil; and whether he can now give the House any information on the subject?

Proposals were made on the subject by the Brazilian Government some time ago and are still tinder discussion, but the matter is not in a position in which any further information can with advantage be given.
