HC Deb 15 April 1889 vol 335 c485
MR. LAWSON

asked the Secretary to the Treasury, whether, to cover the cost of collection by Inland Revenue officers, any deduction was to be made from the sum paid over yearly to the London County Council from the Imperial Revenue in respect of local government; and, what is the estimated cost for this special service in respect of the county of London for local taxation licences and for Probate Duty, if any?

MR. JACKSON

In reply, I have to inform the hon. Member that the cost of collection is estimated at 3½ per cent, and that the Local Government Act does not authorize any deduction on that account being made from payments to the local taxation account.
