HC Deb 27 November 1888 vol 331 c320
MR. CAREW (Kildare, N.)

asked the Postmaster General, Whether in view of paragraph 123 in the Second Report of the Commission on Civil Establishments, it is proposed to take immediate steps, as regards the Savings Bank Department, for carrying out the recommendation of the Commissioners referring to the introduction of the seven hours' scheme into the Civil Service?

THE POST MASTER GENERAL (Mr. RAIKES) (Cambridge University)

Until the Treasury, in whose hands the question now is, has arrived at a decision, I am unable to take steps with respect to the recommendation of the Commission.
