THE SOLICITOR GENERAL FOR IRELAND (Mr. MADDEN)(who replied) said (Dublin University)The Land Commissioners report that there have been 249 cases in which sums of between £2,000 and £4,000 have been advanced 19 under the Purchase of Land (Ireland) Act, 1885, for the purchase by tenants of their holdings, and 28 cases in which the sums exceeded £4,000.
