WARMINGTON (Monmouth, W.)asked the First Lord of the Treasury, Whether the Government is now prepared to assent to the nomination of a Select Committee to consider and report upon the subject of the appointment of an Official or Public Trustee; and, whether the Government will consent to the Second Reading pro formâ of the Bills introduced upon the same subject by the Members for the Central Division of the Borough of Sheffield and the Western Division of Monmouthshire.
§ THE FIRST LORD (Mr. W. H. SMITH) (Strand, Westminster)The Government have it in contemplation to bring in a Bill on the subject of Official Trustees; and the best plan will be to consider, when that Bill is introduced, whether it should be referred to a Select Committee or not.
