HC Deb 02 March 1888 vol 323 cc22-3
SIR ALGERNON BORTHWICK (Kensington, S.)

asked the Vies President of the Committee of Council on Education, When it is probable that the long expected Report of the Committee appointed to consider the question of the action of light on water-colours may be delivered; and, whether the experiments of Dr. Russell and Captain Abney have been completed?

THIS VICE PRESIDENT (Sir WILLIAM HART DYKE) (Kent, Dartford)

I am informed that the first series of about 700 experiments has been completed by Dr. Russell and Captain Abney. The results which have been collected are now in the press, and will shortly be submitted to the Committee of Artists, who, no doubt, will lose no time in making their Report. This Report, and the results of the scientific inquiry, will be laid on the Table of the House.
