§ THE SECRETARY OF STATE (Mr. E. STANHOPE) (Lincolnshire, Horncastle)The question of the status of Sergeants Major, Paymaster Sergeants, and Orderly Room Clerks in Militia Battalions is at present under consideration. Meanwhile vacancies are only filled by acting appointments. I may add that 1404 these positions have to be regarded with reference to the corresponding duties in the Regimental District.
