HC Deb 26 April 1888 vol 325 c608
MR. HENEAGE (Great Grimsby)

asked Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer, Whether any representations had been made to him with regard to the Hawkers' Licence; and whether it was his intention to propose any modification; and, if so, what?

THE CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUER (Mr. GOSCHEN) (St. George's, Hanover Square)

, in reply, said, he had received a large number of suggestions from many quarters against the abolition of the licence. It would, however, be better to discuss the matter when the clause dealing with the duty on hawkers' licenses came on.
