HC Deb 13 April 1888 vol 324 c1180
MR. LYELL (Orkney and Shetland)

asked the Postmaster General, Whether he can make a statement as to the new arrangements which he has proposed to the Treasury with regard to the Shetland Mail Service?

THE POSTMASTER GENERAL (Mr. RAIKES) (Cambridge University)

I very much regret I cannot at present add to the reply which I gave on the 27th of March—namely, that I am giving careful consideration to the Memorials for the improvement of the Postal Service between Aberdeen and Lerwick, and am in communication with the Treasury on the subject. Perhaps the hon. Gentleman will address himself to that Department.
