HC Deb 29 July 1887 vol 318 c535
MR. PICKERSGILL (Bethnal Green, S.W.)

asked the Postmaster General, Whether he has received a Memorial signed by over 400 postmen; whether nearly two months have elapsed since it was sent in; whether the receipt of it has not yet been acknowledged; and, when the Memorialists may expect an answer?

THE POSTMASTER GENERAL (Mr. RAIKES) (Cambridge University)

I have received the Memorial referred to, which is undated, but which reached my Office on the 20th instant. There are no less than eight separate requests in the Petition; and I may say at once that I can hold out no prospect of a compliance with the greater part of them. I shall, however, continue my examination of the matter, and announce my decision to the Memorialists when I am in a position to do so. Meanwhile, the receipt of their Memorial shall be acknowledged.
