§ MR. PICKERSGILL (Bethnal Green, S.W.)asked the Postmaster General, Whether he has received a Memorial signed by over 400 postmen; whether nearly two months have elapsed since it was sent in; whether the receipt of it has not yet been acknowledged; and, when the Memorialists may expect an answer?
§ THE POSTMASTER GENERAL (Mr. RAIKES) (Cambridge University)I have received the Memorial referred to, which is undated, but which reached my Office on the 20th instant. There are no less than eight separate requests in the Petition; and I may say at once that I can hold out no prospect of a compliance with the greater part of them. I shall, however, continue my examination of the matter, and announce my decision to the Memorialists when I am in a position to do so. Meanwhile, the receipt of their Memorial shall be acknowledged.
