HC Deb 01 August 1887 vol 318 cc716-7
MR. BIGGAR (Cavan, W.)

asked the Secretary to the Treasury, Whether, in view of the break down of the Schull and Skibbereen Tramway, notwithstanding the Report of the Government Inspector in its favour, he will reconsider the question of the loan applied for by the Cork and Coachford Tramway Company?

SIR HERBERT MAXWELL (A LORD of the TREASURY) (Wigton)

(who replied) said: the Treasury sanctioned the loan provisionally for the satisfactory completion of the line. The payment would not be made until the Treasury were satisfied that the several sections of the line had been satisfactorily completed. Therefore, the Secre- tary to the Treasury did not think it necessary to re-consider his decision on; the grounds stated in the Question.
