HC Deb 01 August 1887 vol 318 c703
DR. KENNY (Cork, S.)

asked the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, If he could state how the Committee of the Whitworth Hospital, Drumcondra, Dublin, is constituted; whether the members are elected by votes of subscribers to the Charity or by co-option; and, if by latter mode, under what authority are they so elected; and, whether, as this Hospital was omitted from the list of Medical Charities investigated by the recent Hospital Commission, he will direct inquiries to be made as to whether the present scheme under which it is managed is according to the terms of the original Trust, and, if necessary, to draw up a new scheme?

THE PARLIAMENTARY UNDER SECRETARY (Colonel KING-HARMAN) (Kent, Isle of Thanet)

(who replied) said, he had no knowledge as to how the Committee was constituted, this not being one of the Hospitals in receipt of a Government grant, nor one as to which the Hospital Commission made investigation. He had no objection to make inquiries.
