HC Deb 29 April 1887 vol 314 cc354-5
MR. NORRIS (Tower Hamlets, Limehouse)

asked Mr. Attorney General, Whether he can give any reason for the Court presided over by Mr. Justice Grove, in the Queen's Bench Division, not sitting on Wednesday and Thursday the 20th and 21st instant, thus preventing the case of the "Gaslight and Coke Company v. the Vestry of St. George's, Hanover Square," being proceeded with after the first day of hearing, and causing considerable inconvenience as well as pecuniary loss to both parties?

THE ATTORNEY GENERAL (Sir RICHARD WEBSTER) (Isle of Wight)

The case referred to in the hon. Member's Question was postponed, because it was necessary to form a special Court to hear a case which had been adjourned from the preceding sittings in consequence of the difficulty of forming the necessary Court. The postponement was unavoidable, and no serious inconvenience was thereby occasioned.
