HC Deb 24 May 1886 vol 305 c1832
COLONEL DUNCAN (Finsbury, Holborn)

asked the Secretary of State for War, Whether he intends doing anything with reference to Army Quartermasters, by way of improving both their position while serving and the rules as to their pensions on retirement?

THE SECRETARY OF STATE (Mr. CAMPBELL-BANNERMAN)&c.) (Stirling,

The position of the Army Quartermasters was considered in 1881, and a Warrant was issued improving it in many respects. It has now been represented that in some points that Warrant has not been completely satisfactory; and having received a statement on the subject, I invited one or two officers of the Department to examine and report upon it. I have received their Report, and it is now being considered.
