HC Deb 21 May 1886 vol 305 c1659
SIR HENRY HOLLAND (Hampstead)

asked the Vice President of the Committee of Council, Whether Mr. Matthew Arnold, who was sent by the Education Department to report upon the Schools in Germany, and elsewhere on the continent, has presented his Report; and, whether it can be laid upon the Table of the House and distributed to Members before the Education Vote is taken?

THE VICE PRESIDENT OF THE COUNCIL (Sir LYON PLAYFAIR) (Leeds, 1660 S.)

Mr. Arnold's Report was received yesterday, and I will lay it on the Table to-night. There may be a little delay in issuing it, as certain tables have not yet been given in, and the proofs have to be sent to the United States, as Mr. Arnold has left Eugland. I will do my best to hasten the issue of the Report, which is already in the hands of the printers.

SIR HENRY HOLLAND

asked whether the Report could not be laid before the House without waiting for the tables?

SIR LYON PLAYFAIR

said, he would consider that suggestion.
