§ MR. W. H. SMITHasked the Secretary of State for War, When it would be in his power to make any further statement with regard to the defence of their coaling stations, and with regard to the construction of guns, and the supply of steel required for such guns?
THE MARQUESS OF HARTINGTON,in reply, said, he thought the most convenient opportunity for making a statement would be on Vote 12 of the Army Estimates. He would then endeavour to give the Committee of Supply the fullest information in his power, both as to the expenditure on the ordinary Vote, and also as to the expenditure which had taken place on the Vote of Credit.
