HC Deb 14 May 1885 vol 298 c488
MR. VILLIERS STUART

asked the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, Whether, having in view the importance of rendering effective the Legislation passed by the present Parliament for the benefit of the Irish labourers, Her Majesty's Government will bring forward the Labourers (Ireland) (No. 2) Bill for Second Beading before the Whitsuntide Recess?

MR. CAMPBELL-BANNERMAN

I should be glad if an opportunity presented itself for taking the second reading of this Bill before Whitsuntide; but I confess I see at present little prospect of such an opportunity.
