HC Deb 14 May 1885 vol 298 cc487-8
MR. LABOUCHERE

asked the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, If there would be any difficulty in giving particulars in a Blue Book of the alleged agrarian outrages in Ireland, say for the last twelve months, as was done in January 1881, before the passing of the Peace Preservation (Ireland) Act?

MR. CAMPBELL-BANNERMAN

A quarterly Return of the outrages in Ireland is at present presented to Parliament. If the hon. Member will be good enough to look at these, be will probably find what he wants; but, if not, I shall be glad to consider whether any further information can be given.

MR. LABOUCHERE

said, that on the last occasion on which a Coercion Bill was brought in details of these outrages were given in the shape of a Blue Book.

MR. CAMPBELL-BANNERMAN

said, that he should be glad to confer with his hon. Friend on the subject.

MR. ARTHUR O'CONNOR

asked, whether the Government would also, at the same time, give a similar Return of outrages in England during the same period?

MR. CAMPBELL-BANNERMAN,

in reply, said, that the Question must be addressed to the Secretary of State for the Home Department.
