HC Deb 23 February 1885 vol 294 c1042
BARON HENRY DE WORMS

asked the Secretary of State for War, Whether it is the fact that, previously to the 1st March 1881, when the Order in Council of the 4th June 1870 came into force, seven viewers of the Ordnance Store Department were allowed to receive certificates rendering them eligible for superannuation; and, if so, whether the fourteen viewers of the Inspection Branch, who were appointed previously to the 1st March 1881, will likewise be allowed the certificates above referred to?

MR. BRAND

(who replied) said, no viewers had been certificated since the Order in Council of the 4th of June, 1870; and as the viewers referred to in the hon. Member's Question entered the service of the Ordnance Store Department after the privilege of superannuation had been withdrawn from this class of employés they would not be certificated.
