HC Deb 27 October 1884 vol 293 c244
SIR H. DRUMMOND WOLFF

asked the Civil Lord of the Admiralty, Whether the Board propose to take any further steps to comply with the application of the Warrant Officers of the Navy for the amelioration of their present position?

SIR THOMAS BRASSEY

Considerable concessions have been made of late in the case of the warrant officers of the Navy. All such officers serving in harbour ships with appointments from the Admiralty are now granted pay at seagoing instead of harbour rates. Numerous additional Greenwich pensions have been provided. The grant of compassionate allowances to the children of warrant officers whose deaths are attributable to the Service is under consideration.
