§ SIR WILLIAM HARCOURTYes, Sir, I shall certainly have a careful inquiry made into this matter; and I venture to point out with regard to the representations I have received against the measures proposed to be taken for greater precaution against shot-firing, that I received to-day from the Inspector of Mines a Report stating that, in his opinion, the explosion was due to shot-firing.
