HC Deb 26 May 1884 vol 288 c1315
MR. RICHARD

asked the First Lord of the Treasury, Whether he can hold out any hopes that the measure for Intermediate Education in Wales, twice mentioned in the Queen's Speech, and so often promised by the Government, will be introduced at an early day after the Whitsuntide Recess?

MR. GLADSTONE

The measure to which my hon. Friend refers is ready, and Her Majesty's Government have every hope, and as far as depends upon them every intention, of passing it during the present Session. With regard to the particular day for introducing it, if my hon. Friend will communicate with the Vice President of the Council he will be happy to consider what is best to be done for the purpose.
