HC Deb 03 March 1884 vol 285 cc367-8
MR. R. H. PAGET

asked the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, When he proposes to issue the consolidated Order setting forth the regulations now in force under the Contagious Diseases (Animals) Act, which was promised dur- ing the last Session of Parliament; and, whether he will consider the propriety of the issue of an order authorising local authorities to prevent, as far as practicable, animals affected with foot and mouth disease from drinking at running streams?

MR. DODSON

The consolidated Orders were gazetted on February 12. Considerable delay occurred in printing the Orders. They are now being issued as fast as possible. We have carefully considered the suggestion described in the second Question; but the subject appears to be attended with difficulties, both legal and practical, and we do not at present see our way to make an Order for the purpose.
