EVELYN ASHLEY, in reply, said, the Resident in the Transvaal had not furnished the Government with any information as to the terms on which the Transvaal Government would allow Mapoch to surrender. There was no ground to believe that he would receive worse terms in consideration of the services rendered by him to the British in the late war. As a matter of fact, he did not render any services.
