HC Deb 14 June 1883 vol 280 c537
DR. CAMERON

asked the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Whether it is true that the Captain of the Port of Carthagena, who was ostensibly dismissed from his office in deference to British remonstrances regarding his armed attack upon the steamer "Tangier," has, as stated in the "Shipping Gazette" of May 29th, "since been promoted to the better Port of Cadiz?"

LORD EDMOND FITZMAURICE

No, Sir; it is not true.
