HC Deb 13 November 1882 vol 274 c1291
MR. HEALY

asked the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, Whether the expenses, salaries, &c. of working the Arrears Act will become a charge on the Estimates or be defrayed out of the Church surplus?

MR. TREVELYAN

By the 8th section of the Arrears of Rent Act, any liabilities incurred by the Land Commission on account of payments to landlords in respect of arrears of rent are primarily a charge of the Irish Church Temporalities Fund; but the expenses of carrying out the Act must be voted by Parliament.
