HC Deb 27 March 1882 vol 268 cc19-20
MR. ION HAMILTON

asked Mr. Attorney General for Ireland, Whether it is the case that Mr. Tilson Shaen Carter, J.P., recently applied to the Government for police protection; and, if so, whether he will state upon what grounds such protection was refused?

THE ATTORNEY GENERAL FOR IRELAND (Mr. W. M. JOHNSON)

I must ask the hon. Member to postpone this Question. I have telegraphed today twice for the purpose of getting clearer information; but on neither occasion did I obtain such information as would enable me to give him a satisfactory answer.
