§ SIR WILFRID LAWSONasked the Under Secretary of State for the Colonies a Question, of which he had given Private Notice, As to the accuracy of a statement in "The Daily News," to the effect that the Cape Government has obtained from the Colonial Office full powers to deal with the Basuto difficulty in their own way, and that if their request is not granted, they will propose to the Legislature at Cape Town to withdraw the colonial authority from Basutoland?
§ MR. COURTNEY, in reply, said, the statement in question presented a considerable travesty of the real truth; but official papers on the affairs of Basutoland, explaining the whole subject, were in an advanced state of preparation, and would be laid on the Table within a week.
