HC Deb 15 June 1882 vol 270 c1237
MR. CROPPER

asked the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Whether it is true that the appointment of Mr. Mieville to the Consulship of the Soudan has been cancelled on account of health; and, if so, whether any other appointment has yet been made?

SIR CHARLES W. DILKE

Sir, it has been decided on grounds of health to appoint Mr. Mieville to some other post, and to select another gentleman for the Consulate at Khartoum. No fresh appointment has, however, yet been made.
