§ MR. ARTHUR O'CONNORasked the Secretary to the Treasury, Whether he has any objection to lay upon the Table a Return showing, for each of the last five years, the gross amount of fees received in the office of the Registry of Deeds (Middlesex); the amount of office expenses; the net amount of fees; the sum accounted for to the Exchequer, as representing the share of the Queen's Remembrancer; and the names of the recipients of the remainder, with the amount issued to each, and the authority under which the distribution was made?
§ MR. COURTNEYSir, I will inquire how far this information can be given, and will take steps for procuring it, as I think its publication might be useful in reference to the Bill dealing with the office. In the meanwhile, perhaps the hon. Member will use his influence with the hon. Member for Cavan (Mr. Biggar) to remove the block which he has placed upon this Bill.
§ MR. ARTHUR O'CONNORsaid, he would use his influence for that purpose as soon as he received the information which he had asked for.
