asked the Secretary to the Treasury, Whether the whole amount of the loans sanctioned under the provisions of "The Relief of Distress (Ireland) Act, 1880," has been advanced; and, if not, what is the total of the balances?

MR. COURTNEY

The total of loans and grants sanctioned out of the £1,500,000 authorized by Parliament is £1,423,000; up to Saturday last £1,235,000 had been actually advanced.
