asked the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, Whether his attention has been drawn to the altar denunciations of the Rev. P. Briody, C. C., Mount Nugent; and, whether it is proposed to take any steps in regard to him?

Sir, the attention of the Government has from time to time been given to the utterances of the Rev. Mr. Briody; but it has not been deemed advisable to take any notice of them.
