HC Deb 28 April 1882 vol 268 c1665
MR. H. G. ALLEN

asked the Postmaster General, Whether he will introduce, during the present Session, a Bill to facilitate the grant of small annuities and life policies, such as the Select Committee in their Report recommended should be passed without delay?

MR. FAWCETT

Sir, in reply to my hon. Friend, I have to state that, immediately the Report of the Committee appointed to inquire into the subject of Post Office Annuities and Insurance was laid on the Table, instructions were given to prepare a Bill embodying the recommendations of the Committee. This Bill is nearly ready, and I hope to introduce it in the course of a few days.
