HC Deb 24 April 1882 vol 268 c1253
BARON HENRY DE WORMS

asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury, What is the number of surveyors of each class to be added to the Outdoor Department of Her Majesty's Customs consequent on the transfer of work from the existing Warehousing Departments to the Outdoor Department; and, whether it is the intention of the Treasury that the whole of the surveyorships thus created shall be given to the clerks of the Warehousing Departments who consent to be transferred with their work?

LORD FREDERICK CAVENDISH

Nine surveyors will be added to the first class, 12 to the second, and 24 to the third; but I cannot at present say how far these posts will be assigned to the outdoor and clerical branches of the Service.
